The Choices They Don’t See

Think about the last big decision you made.

Maybe it was taking a job, moving your family, choosing how to spend your money, or even choosing how to respond in a moment of conflict.

I’m pretty sure you received criticism for some of those decisions you made...

But people only see the decision you landed on. They don’t see the choices you wrestled through to get there.

Every decision has a backstory.

From the outside, it’s easy for others to judge. They see where you are now, but not the sleepless nights, the prayers you prayed, or the sacrifices you made along the way.

The truth is, most of your hardest choices happen in private.

They’re the moments no one else witnesses…

The ones where you weigh fear against faith.
Comfort against calling.
The easy way against the right way.

God sees the choices no one else sees.

1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us, “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

People may only see your decisions, but God sees the heart behind them.

He knows when you chose integrity instead of compromise.
He knows when you stayed faithful even when no one was watching.
He knows the cost of saying yes or no.

Your unseen choices matter more than people’s opinions.

Others might misunderstand your decisions. They may even criticize them.

But God honors the unseen faithfulness that led you there. And in time, the fruit of those choices will speak for itself.

So the next time you feel misunderstood, remember this: people don’t have the full picture. But God does.

Choose what honors Him, even if no one else ever understands.
