Turn Burdens Into Blessings

Shifting from “have to” to “get to” reframes your daily grind into a faith-driven mission. Gratitude fuels impact, purpose, and kingdom-minded living.

There was a time I’d wake up already burdened. A mental checklist of “have to’s” hit me before my feet touched the floor.

I have to get to the gym.
I have to take that call.
I have to work all day.

Sound familiar?

But something shifted the day I swapped “have to” with “get to.”

I get to wake up healthy.
I get to build something meaningful.
I get to serve others with my work.

That simple language shift changed everything.

Once you realize your responsibilities are actually privileges, you stop dragging your feet and start running your race.

Every day is a gift, not a grind.

Scripture reminds us, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

We’re not called to grit our teeth and endure each day. We’re called to rejoice in it.

There’s beauty in the burden.
There’s an opportunity in the obstacle.
There’s a gift in the grind.

You don’t have to go to work—you get to lead.
You don’t have to attend that meeting—you get to speak life into a room.
You don’t have to be with your family—you get to be the kind of parent, sibling, or son this generation desperately needs.

Your outlook fuels your output.

So tomorrow morning, when that alarm hits, don’t groan; grin.
Because you get to show up.
You get to grow.
You get to lead a life that echoes into eternity.

This is about remembering that every breath is borrowed. Every moment is a mission. And every “get to” is a chance to glorify God in the ordinary.

As Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

That means your emails matter.
Your workouts matter.
The way you show up for your wife, your kids, your team…it all matters.

So, let’s live like we mean it.
Let’s lead with joy, work with purpose, and worship through the grind.

Because you don’t just have to live this life; you get to impact it.
