When life leaves you weary, remember: God renews your strength. The second wind you long for comes from Him, giving endurance to press on and rise again.
If you’ve ever gone for a long run, you know the feeling.
At first, your energy is high. Every step feels manageable. But then, somewhere along the way, fatigue sets in. Your legs feel heavy. Your lungs burn. Your mind screams at you to stop.
And just when you think you can’t take another step, something surprising happens. A “second wind” kicks in. Your breathing steadies. Your strength returns. You find a rhythm you didn’t know was possible.
In your life, sometimes you’ll also start strong. But eventually, the weight of responsibilities, setbacks, or disappointments will wear you down. You’ll feel like you’ve hit the wall.
It’s in those moments that God offers us something we cannot find on our own.
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
When you’ve reached the end of yourself, He breathes fresh wind into your soul. The energy you thought was gone is replaced with endurance you didn’t know you had.
That’s the power of leaning on Him.
Your “second wind” doesn’t come from sheer willpower. It comes from God’s Spirit alive in you. His presence gives you what your body and mind cannot manufacture.
Maybe right now you’re ready to give up on a dream, a calling, a relationship, or even your faith. But this might be the very moment when God is preparing to renew you.
Keep moving.
Keep trusting.
Keep hoping in Him.
The same God who gives eagles their wings can give you the strength to rise again.
