The Power of Your Tongue

Your words hold immense power, shaping your thoughts, steps, and life. Choose to speak God's truth over yourself and others, planting seeds of life instead of negativity.

A friend of mine used to start every morning the same way.
Before his feet hit the floor, he would whisper three words:
"I am enough."

He told me it felt silly at first.
Almost forced.
But after a few weeks, something shifted.
Not in his world, but in the way he walked through it.

That is the quiet power of your words
And most of us don't think twice about what we speak over ourselves before breakfast.
The loop runs on its own.
"I'm behind."
"I'll never get it together."
"I'm not cut out for this."

Those words land somewhere.
They take root.
But so do better ones.

When you begin to say, "I am chosen," "I am strong," "I am made for this,"...
You’re not just talking; you’re planting.
Training your mind to believe what God already knows about you.

Think of it like soil. Every word is a seed.
You get to choose what grows.
And you have been planting something every single day, whether you know it or not.

The good news is that weeds are easy to spot.
And you can pull them up and start planting something true.

Speak to yourself the way God speaks about you.
Because God does not stutter or second-guess.
He calls you His workmanship, His masterpiece, His beloved.

So start there.

Here's your focus for today:

  • Flip the script. Before noon, swap one "I can't" for a truth-filled "I am." Say it out loud. Let your own ears hear it first.
  • Write it down. Put three things God says about you on paper and read them tonight. Chosen. Loved. Enough. Start there.
  • Speak life to someone else. Text or call one person in your life and tell them something true and kind. Your words carry weight for them, too.
  • Anchor your day in this truth: "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." — Proverbs 18:21

The seeds are in your hands.

The soil is ready.

Plant something worth growing.
