The Best Is Yet to Come

Before stepping into the new year, pause to reflect on God’s faithfulness. Release what weighs you down, surrender what’s next, and walk forward with hope, because the best is still ahead.

There is something about New Year’s Eve that makes you pause.

Tonight, the noise will fade for a moment.
Before the countdown starts, you’ll find yourself standing in a thin, sacred space: between what has been and what is about to begin.

You’ll probably look back first: unexpected wins, unplanned moments, lessons learned…
Prayers that were answered quietly, and others that shaped you through waiting.

And then you’ll look forward to a blank calendar, with a quiet question that settles deep in your heart.

What will this year hold?

This is where resolutions are born.

Hope and surrender are what make resolutions possible.

Not perfection or willpower.

Hope that God is still at work, even when the path isn’t clear.

Surrender that says you’re willing to follow, not just plan.

So as the year turns, choose resolutions that align with who God is shaping you to be.

Instead of saying, “I’ll try harder,” say, “Lord, lead me.”
Instead of “I want to change,” say, “Change me from the inside out.”
Instead of “I hope things improve,” say, “Prepare me for what You’re bringing.”

Scripture reminds us where that confidence comes from:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

One last word as the year closes:

Set your goals. Name your hopes. Offer them to God.

Then step into the new year trusting this truth:

The same God who carried you through this year is already waiting for you in the next one.

And with Him, the best is always yet to come.
