Change doesn’t come from wishing—it comes from choices and chances made in faith. Trust God, step out of comfort, and watch Him bring transformation.
Years ago, I heard the story of a young man stuck in a job he hated.
Every morning, he dreaded getting out of bed. And every evening, he came home exhausted.
He complained often about how unhappy he was, but when asked what he planned to do about it, he shrugged.
One day, a mentor pulled him aside and said something he never forgot:
“If you want your life to change, you have to make a choice to take a chance. Without that, nothing changes.”
That conversation lit a spark. He enrolled in night classes, took a risk by applying for a new role, and eventually stepped into a job that gave him life instead of draining it.
The Bible reminds us in Deuteronomy 30:19: “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
God gives us the gift of choice. But for those choices to matter, we often have to take chances, risks that stretch our faith and pull us out of comfort. And only then do we experience real change.
Maybe for you, that choice is leaving behind an unhealthy habit.
Maybe it’s taking a chance on a new relationship or stepping into a ministry role that feels bigger than you.
Maybe it’s finally trusting God with the change you’ve been resisting.
So if you’re not happy with the way your life is going, remember this:
Choices create chances.
Chances lead to changes.
Don’t let fear keep you stuck on the sidelines. Step out. Choose life. Take the chance God is putting in front of you.
That’s how change begins.
