Letting Go To Truly Soar

You weren’t made to stay in the nest. God is calling you higher, beyond comfort, into purpose. Trust Him, take the leap, and let your faith soar.

I’ve always been fascinated by eagles. They’re majestic creatures, effortlessly soaring high above storms and valleys.

But there’s one moment in an eagle’s life that’s not effortless at all; it’s actually a defining moment.

When an eaglet reaches a certain age, its mother starts nudging it toward the edge of the nest, gently but intentionally pushing it into discomfort.

Eventually, the eaglet faces a terrifying choice: cling to the safety of the nest or step into the unknown.

The nest is comfortable. It’s safe. But eagles aren’t born to live in nests; they’re created to soar.

Eventually, the eaglet takes a leap. It tumbles, flaps, struggles, and falls…

But in that moment of vulnerability, something remarkable happens: it discovers its wings. It learns to rise higher than it ever imagined possible.

Your greatest growth lies just beyond your comfort zone.

Maybe you feel a little like that eaglet right now. You sense God nudging you toward something bigger: a calling, a new opportunity, or a deeper level of faith.

But you’re afraid to leave the comfort of your nest: your familiar routines, your secure job, your predictable life.

What if the very thing you’re holding onto is holding you back from what God has planned?

Isaiah 40:31 paints this picture beautifully: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Notice the order: hope in God first, then soaring. You can’t soar until you let go of the false security of the nest and trust God to catch you, carry you, and lift you higher.

The Apostle Peter understood this. When Jesus invited him to step out onto the water, Peter faced a choice similar to that eaglet. Stay safe in the boat, or step into the unknown and experience something extraordinary.

He stepped out. Yes, he stumbled. Yes, he got scared. But for a moment, Peter walked on water—something no one else but Jesus has ever done.

Stepping into faith isn’t about eliminating risk.

It’s about choosing trust over comfort, knowing that even if you falter, Jesus will always be there to catch you.

His purpose is always to lift you higher, to help you experience greater purpose, joy, and fulfillment.

Today, embrace the nudge.
Lean into the discomfort.
Trust that God’s best is waiting for you beyond your comfort zone.

Take the leap.
Spread your wings. And rise higher.
