Closer Than You Think

Faith is not proven in clarity but in uncertainty. Even when God feels silent or unseen, His presence is near, guiding and shaping your life.

Stand outside at noon on a sunny day.

Normally, your shadow stretches long across the ground. But when the sun is directly overhead, your shadow disappears.

It hasn’t gone away. It’s just hidden beneath your feet, where you can’t see it.

What you can’t see still exists.

Faith works the same way. There are times when God feels close and visible. His presence is obvious, His direction feels clear, and His blessings are easy to recognize.

But there are other moments when you look around and wonder where He went. The shadow seems to have disappeared.

Has God left? No. He’s still there, even when you cannot see Him.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Faith is not proven when you can see clearly. It is proven when you cannot.

Think about Joseph in the pit.
David in the wilderness.
The disciples on Saturday after the crucifixion.

In those moments, it must have felt like God had vanished. Yet His hand was still at work, positioning them for something greater.

It’s the same for you.

You may be in a season where you feel like your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling. Where the presence of God feels distant and His voice feels quiet.

But just because you don’t see Him doesn’t mean He’s gone.

I’m reminded of one of the most honest prayers ever prayed in scripture. It came from a man whose son was tormented day and night by demons.

This father, with tears in his eyes, said to Jesus: “Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief.” (Mark 9:24)

What a raw, honest prayer.

God is closer than you think.

Like the shadow at noon, His presence hasn’t disappeared. It’s just in a place you can’t see.

He’s still guiding.
He’s still working.
He’s still holding you up.

So keep walking.
Keep trusting.
Keep believing in what you cannot see.

One day, when the sun shifts, you’ll see what was hidden all along.
