Break the Norm

Choosing service, humility, and generosity over conflict, pride, and selfishness transforms lives, redefines success, and creates a legacy rooted deeply in purposeful living.

Conflict seems like the norm these days…

In many directions I look, I see intolerance, hatred, war…People and countries are becoming more and more against each other…

So, I think the real challenge in this crazy world—dare I say the true rebellion—is to break the norm by choosing service over selfishness.

I know that sounds a bit counterintuitive, especially when every day feels like a battle for dominance, success, or simply getting your point across.

But what if we flipped that script? What if, instead of fighting to win, we started fighting to serve?

Jesus served—and that changed everything.

Think about Jesus for a moment. His entire life was a masterclass in defying the norm.

While others were obsessed with power, He chose humility.
While the world taught self-preservation, He embraced self-sacrifice.

Jesus himself said, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45).

He set the bar high, not by dominating but by demonstrating what true leadership and selflessness look like.

Being selfless isn't about losing; it's about gaining purpose.

The greatest leaders, the most successful entrepreneurs, and the most fulfilled individuals are those who relentlessly pursue service.

They understand that their power grows not when they take, but when they give.
They defy the status quo by choosing collaboration over competition, compassion over indifference, and service over selfishness.

So, here's the challenge I have for you today:

Break the norm; be abnormal. Yes, abnormal.

Choose generosity when the world expects greed.
Choose humility when the world expects pride.
Choose service when the world expects selfishness.

Your legacy is built by what you give away.

Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

Transformation comes when you commit to a new pattern—one that aligns with faith and purpose rather than pride and power.

So, step boldly into that abnormality today. Serve passionately, give generously, and lead humbly.

Because when you do, you’re changing your life and reshaping your world.
