A Knockdown Isn’t a Knockout

When life hits harder than expected, faith hits back. With your purpose anchored in Christ, you’re not just surviving—you’re rising, rebuilding, and reclaiming victory.

You can write your goals down, frame them, vision board them all you want—but if your why isn’t deeper than your comfort, you’re going to fold the moment life throws its first punch.
And it will punch hard. Mike Tyson hard.

You might even be flat on the mat right now.

But if you’ve still got breath in your lungs,  the bell hasn’t rung.

There’s something sacred about those seconds when life hits hardest. Sobering. Refreshing, even… If you allow them to be.

When the crowd goes quiet, the lights blur, and you’re staring up, not just at the ceiling, but at the ceiling of your strength.

That’s when the real battle begins—not in your fists, but in your faith.

The bell rang, but the fight wasn’t over.

Remember Buster Douglas, the boxer? Everyone counted him out against Mike Tyson. No one had ever gotten up from a Tyson knockout.

Well, Buster silenced the voices that said it couldn’t be done

But it wasn’t just his training or toughness. It was what was anchored in his soul: His mother had declared victory over him before the fight ever started.

And when she passed just days before, Buster made a choice: He would not let the promise she spoke die with her.

So, instead of quitting, he chose to live for her.

You can crumble… or you can rise. Choose wisely.

When life has you up against the ropes, remember: it’s not punishment—it’s preparation.

The pressure is real. But so is the promise.

The Bible reminds us in Romans 5:3-4, “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”

God doesn’t waste pain—He transforms it.

The Apostle Paul was no stranger to being knocked down, but he wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; struck down, but not destroyed.”

You see, faith isn’t about feeling strong. It’s about standing when your feelings are gone and your flesh is weak—and still believing that God’s not done.

Faith is your corner man—and He never leaves the ring.

We all have a choice when life hits hard: stay down or get back up.

But as believers, we never fight alone.

The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave is alive in you. (Romans 8:11) That means you’ve already got what it takes—not to survive, but to overcome. Not to endure—but to conquer.

So when life throws its hardest punch, let your why echo heaven’s truth:

“Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

Get up.

Not because you feel strong.

But because your Savior is.
